I, like many of the British people, have been watching reports of brave Chinese people, crying out for an end to the very damaging Covid restrictions.
They have also been risking all to call for an end to Communist rule and instead, democracy and human rights and the really brave ones have cried out for the sacking of China’s brutal dictatorial leader, President Xi Jinping.

I have no idea whether the British government has any sense of irony, if they don’t, they should have.
After all, in the midst of the protests and as a BBC journalist Ed Lawrence was being beaten up and dragged away from reporting the protests, the British government has tied itself in knots trying to explain its’ policy towards China as Robust Pragmatism – you couldn’t make it up.
How can we not see China as a threat when even in the UK its diplomats beat up democracy protesters, we are forced to ban Chinese companies for being a threat and the Chinese police have set up unofficial police stations threatening Chinese expats in the UK?
